Dear Hoppy, I know exactly what you meant when you said, "I'd light up without even knowing it." I've done the same thing so many times that I wonder just how many cigarettes I burned up with only three or four puffs taken. For me, it seemed like I constantly had one lit unless I was sleeping. I just quit two days ago and I won't lie, it hasn't been easy but this site has been a great support group for me. I have to be able to talk to someone who understands what I'm going through. Patches, nicorette gum, the lozenges and all of those tools aren't an option for me. I'm diabetic so the oral quit tools have sugar in them which I can't have. I'm 46 years old and I have three children that I want to see have children of their own. Quitting isn't an option for me if I want to see my grandchildren. It isn't an option for me at all. Fact is, I'm sick of lugging around that ball and chain and I know you are too. It's never, ever too late to quit. You can do this and we all understand how tough it is. Lord knows, I'm not pro at quitting but I can sure be here to listen to you if or when you need to talk. We can do this together. Take Care and Good Luck. Tutti
