Hi Lucky I understand about Fridays. I won't be able to have a drink until after my baby is born in August and no smoking this Friday or any Friday forever so I guess I will have a extra snack for both of us! Preggy0807

Well I quit cold turkey on 1/1/07. So far it hasn't been to bad however it i am usually okay until friday, even if i don't go out. So far i seem to be doing okay and i am going to start running again. Any advice on any other coping skills would be great.

Thanks everyone for your support. I think the friday thing is just habit, because everytime i have quit regardless of if i want to go out or not the urge to smoke gets really bad. and my work week doesn't even end on friday, i don't work monday thru friday. I really am not to worried about it this weekend but we will see when friday comes! Thanks everyone for your support. Oh and by the way lucky is one of my pet's name i thought it was going to be my password, don't worry i know quitting has nothing to do with luck. Lucky - First off, it's great that you're done with smoking. Second, I'd stay away from the booze for awhile...I lost many successful quits that way. Booze, parties, smoke-filled rooms all tend to lower your inhibitions. Had a few drinks, "one smoke won't hurt", or 'I'll just smoke when I party...". The drunken justifications go on and on. Stay away for awhile. Trust me. -- 2tone My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/26/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 8 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 231 Amount Saved: $44 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 8 Mins: 40 Seconds: 3

Hi, welcome, and well met. I love your name, but luck has nothing to do with quitting, I hope you know. You say you are allright until Friday and I assume you don't mean you go get drunk repeatedly and then smoke? So you are busy all day at work and planning work all week? Hmmmmmmmm sounds like you could do with a little planning of the Friday night (without a smoke as a reward for getting through the week)through Sunday morning. Then you work your plan and it works, if you work it, and YOU'RE WORTH IT!!! Congratulations for taking the first steps toward freedom, and you sooo deserve it! Hi Lucky, Congrats on just being here!!!! Glad all is going well. Don't fret the Friday, although it might be a bit too early for the "Friday night whoopla". I think keeping things low key for the first few weeks is the way to go. Glad to have you aboard, Cheers, Jan My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/13/2007 Smoke-Free Days: -9 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0

Good for you! Be sure to work the program to the left. There are a lot of ideas for coping during cravings. Post often and let us know how it gores!
