Congratulations on a great start to your quit. Read a lot and post a lot. It really helps. Lots of nice people here and it looks like now there is one more (you). Have a great day and post a lot to let all of us know how you're doing. My dad was from Lincoln, and my mum from Glasgow. They immigrated to Canada before I was born. I always heard cigarettes referred to as "fags" or "ciggies" when I was growing up. Because yes, in the earlier years they both smoked. Whatever we call them, they're just not worth it and glad you have decided to give them up, fagashlynne. Cheers, Jan My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/16/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 9 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 283 Amount Saved: $81 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 0 Mins: 42 Seconds: 31

Thanks, Phil! I KNEW you from the UK Fagashlynne. In the US your screen name has a TOTALLY different meaning :p Our UK buddies keep us informed of your 'slang'; the US keep people up to date on our 'slang' and our Canadian buddies throw in a bit of French to keep us on our toes! We have folks from other countries as well (Greece, South America, South Africa...) We are an interesting and diverse group that has a whole lot of FUN :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 47 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,371 Amount Saved: $376 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 21 Mins: 5 Seconds: 55
