Hi there non smokers :) The first days after my quit I really needed to tell people how brave I was by not smoking. All the people I work with are smokers and I tried to tell them how happy I was. They didn't want to hear me and they just kept going on smoking in the office (which is not allowwed btw). What they didn't know was that they helped me by not listening to me. I decided not to tell them how I was doing anymore. I just kept going on with my quit and got happier by the day. Then something funny happend. Two girls from work asked me if they could come over to visit me. I said: Sure, please do. (grin) Then I knew it was time to put the ashtrays away :P. I went outside, grabbed a hammer and smashed them as hard as I could. The girls came, sat down, had coffee and then wanted to start smoking. Oops....no ashtrays here? No, ofcourse not, I don't smoke, remember. They went outside to smoke......poor things huh??? No....dumb things. lol. Hugs to all Fini :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 104 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,618 Amount Saved: 306.8 Life Gained: Days: 14 Hrs: 9 Mins: 44 Seconds: 1

I threw mine away at week two! If you bust them up with a hammer (please wear safty glasses and protective gear), it can be a stress reducer! I still have some ashtrays in the cabinet myself, I guess we should get rid of them. Maybe that symbolizes lack of committment. I'm getting rid of them today! I never used ash trays, I used the ground hehe. But I have cleaned the patio where i *used* to smoke. Haven't been out there much lately :) I quit smoking on July 6, 2006 at 6:00pm. It has been 1 week, 14 hours, 58 minutes, and 26 seconds since I quit. Had I not quit smoking, I would have: * Smoked 152 cigarettes (That's like smoking a 51 foot long cigarette) * Spent $32.63 on cigarettes * Inhaled 1.52 grams of tar * Inhaled 121 mg of nicotine (That's like doing 2,287 hits of nicotine) * Inhaled 1.68 grams of carbon monoxide * Taken an additional 22 hours, 33 minutes, and 41 seconds off my life
