Okay, I woke up feeling great. Got my little puppy outside and went for a 3 mile walk/run. This took the place of my usual first morning activity which was smoking! FELT GREAT! My boyfriend stayed over last night, and he smokes. I told him I was quitting today, and I didn't want to see his smokes anywhere when I woke up. But there they were on the coffee table, and so you guessed it, I now need to start over today. I heard from somewhere on this site, that I should treat this as seriously as a heroine addiction, and just focus on getting through the first 3 days, without being around anyone who smokes, avoiding any triggers if possible. So, I am starting over again, as I am almost finished reading Alan Carr's book. Tomorrow, February 12 is my new quit date. I've told my b/f that I can't see him for a few days, otherwise I'll be tempted to smoke his cigarettes. I am SO mad at myself, but am trying to be patient... I haven't put on a patch, but I am conflicted about those, after reading Alan Carr, but I may anyways because at least I'm not inhaling the stuff and all the other chemicals. I WILL NOT BUY ANY CIGARETTES TODAY! And the new rule in my house is that it is a NON-SMOKING environment. Seeing all of you succeed IS giving me hope, so I won't give up!

HEllo Everyone. I had a slip up and so didn't quit until Feb 23rd, but I did do it, and am happy about it. Still makes me a Member of the February Knights of the Empty Ashtrays", if that is our new name. I like it, humorous. Just thought I'd drop a line to say "hi". My computer had crashed and I was unable to access email for a few weeks. Just getting caught up now.... Good luck everyone. Keep it up. I've also joined an online Nicotine Anonymous group which has been very helpful. Welcome all February Quitters! Being a quitter never felt so good. The first week's a b*#@h, but it just gets better after that. They don't call it hell week for nothing. Push through the craves, mind over matter. You can do it. Stay strong and do whatever it takes. Looking forward to seeing you all around. A Gold Star for the February Quitters. I know you guys can make it. It really does help to stick close with a group that has quit around the same time as you. Our Ash Kickers group is great and lots of us check in frequently. Good Luck and pick a great name. Long Quitters (Old Timers sounds so negative)will check in on you guys from time to time and make sure you are doing OK. I know I appreciate that as newbies leading newbies doesn't always work 100%. I speak for many when I say that we are all here for you and keep up the good work. Just Say N.O.P.E.
