Congrats T, karate huh? That is awesome man, isn't nice to be free from the addiction, celebrate, but stay vigilant, the demon is always looking for a weak spot.

Hi Terry,

Thank you so much for checking in and congratulations on 6 months smoke-free! Way to go! It sounds as though you have successfully replaced old habits with new ones and are really enjoying yourself! Keep finding what you like to do and what works for you. It's never to late to try something new out! Looking back on the past six months what helped you the most? What tips would you give to someone just getting started?

Stay strong, keep the quit!

Hello everyone is SSC world, I trust everyone had a great Christmas.

Well I'm proud to say I made it to 6 months.  You know what I'm starting to believe I can do this.....finally.  I know I haven't been on the board much, work is crazy and I find my life has changed since I quit smoking.  Things I did when I did smoke I can't really sit and do anymore i.e. sitting on my computer or even sitting in the living room reading a book, these are things I did while I was smoking so now I find I am  not interested in doing them any more.  I have found that the cravings have diminished substantially so getting through the day without thinking about it is no unusual for me

I have taken up Karate which takes a good portion of my time, who would of thought taking Karate at the age of 49!!  I'm loving it though and it will help get me in shape and keep me there or at least I would like to think so.

Even though you don't see me on the board I am here, usually reading the post and getting inspired by the people who are ahead of me on this journey.

Take care and Happy New Year

Terry
