I'll tell you what I know about wisdom. Not much...
I know that wisdom has something to do with the sincere conviction that we know very little. And I know that wisdom is much less about what we know, than about what we choose, how we live, and what we are willing to be to each-other and ourselves.
Beyond that, I just try to stay out of my own way. :)
Sometimes I feel like I need to pinch myself. I look at my life today and I think, "I don't smoke, and I don't need to. I feel terrific without it. I feel that I'm really free... at long last." For the first time in more than 35 years... I can live as I chose, compelled by nothing.
I'm where I am today because I did what it took to get here, and because I kept connecting with all of you and looking to each of you for support and encouragement. I'm free of cigarettes today because I made a minute to minute, day to day committment to live in the solution... no matter how good or bad I felt.
As long as I keep doing that, I'll remain smoke-free. As long as I keep doing that...
Lainey, Dutch, Tom, Pen, Kita, Anna, Tresa, Sparky, Lynne, Danielle, Blue Cloud, Unhooked, Martha, Bobbi, Stickin to it, Luna, Loulou and Sue... each of you has helped me get to this milestone. Every one of us has reached out to each other at some time... and made a difference.
So, let's continue to do that...because it's working, folks! We are the evidence that it's working!
And thanks to all of you for helping me celebrate my first 1/2 year. The first half was great, but the second half is going to be even better! :)
