Congratluations Janna on getting through Hell Week. While there are still challenges ahead you have proven that if you can get through the first week you can get through every day that follows. My wife still smokes but much like your husband she doesn't smoke around me and consequently she has cut down quit a bit. I never say anything to her about it but I am hopeful she will quit. If your quit motivates your husband then it will still be his quit. Keep up the good work and take it one day at a time. janna, Keep your own quit and let him work his way to it! Protect your quit and know that the example that you are setting is an amazing one! Make sure you have some rewards planned for yourself and celebrate that one week :) Josie, Support Specialist

Janna, Good for you!! Hell week is over, it does get easier! Why not have your husband check out this site, you're right he has to quit for himself, not you. My husband still smokes, and when he is ready I will support him but I will not nag or try to push him into something he is not ready for. Oh yeah, time for a reward- one week is HUGE! I made it one week. Couldn't have done it without this site. You all are wonderful. Everytime I feel like I just can't do it I go through and just randomly read posts and realize you all went through the same things I am and you have pulled through it. I know I am a long way from out of the woods, but I feel so much stronger. It gets easier every day. My baby girl (with me in my picture) tells me every day how proud she is of me and I think that is what is making me so strong. Update on my husband: He had no plans on quitting and I didn't ask him to. But, because now he is not smoking in front of me, he has been smoking less and is talking about trying to quit himself. I don't want to push him and am really kind of scared that if he tries to quit and he is just doing it for me and not really ready or doesn't really want to that he is going to be a bear. HELP!
