How Many of Us Remember...

14 years ago 0 24 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Well I certainly remember - even if I can not recall every username!
In particular, Brenda, who replied to just about every single post I ever wrote!

I had many friends give up smoking at the same time I did - I am the only one who remained smoke free.  I can only credit this website as to why I stayed off the smokes when everyone else gave in and went back to them! I was the heaviest and most dependant smoker and people still comment almost every week that of all the people they know, they never thought I would succeed in giving up smoking. My habit was a huge part of my life!

So I not only remember, but I am very grateful.

Thank you everybody on here. Even those who did not post to my questions, I read your threads and learned lots. Indeed, I never had one more puff.... not one!

Phae

Very few who welcomed me are around, but I remember Linda, who made me laugh through the tears, Lin, Lizzie, Avalleymom, JohnW,

And from Bubba:-
“Anybody here ever stood on a high cliff anticipating the jump, such as the ones in Acapulco?  The longer you ponder the jump the harder it gets to make the quantum leap.  Could that be what is going on here?  Just the anticipation of the quit might have you spooked beyond reason.  Cast aside outmoded concepts concerning what you have heard.  The harder you work at this, the easier it gets.
Again, a great day today is better than a wonderful day later.
Make the plunge.  You'll be glad you did.
Bubba”

Love Lolly.

Definately sweet Lolly followed by many others, like Rusty and Ros.

there are so many that helped back then that I won't try to name them all, although there are a few that will always hold a place in my heart.. hopefully they all know who they are (hummy, luna, lady, phil, riverdaleman among others)

Rusty and Henny Penny were the first two folks to greet me.  Then it seemed like the entire site welcomed me with open arms and offered advice!  I will never forget the wonderful broccoli and asperagus salad Cold Turkey make me when I came off Coumadin and was allowed to eat green veggies again!!!  What a wonderful village we have here at the SSC!

The quitters that I remember being most helpful to me early in my quit were Mary Lou, Terry, Bubba & Katy.  There weren't many members at this site then, it's grown a lot since then!!

My best to all!

I don't remember either Tabbyh, and I tried to cheat by looking it up as well!    But, I can only go back 365 days, and that's not far enough for my quit date.  But.......I do thank everyone just the same!

I have to admit that I didn't remember exactly who replied to me first on my first post (so I cheated and looked it up)... :o)  Jazz was the first person to welcome me (thanks Jazz).  There was also Cameless and Bobinsc (miss you Bob wherever you are).  So many of you were so welcoming and very helpful in the beginnig of my quit... and still are... Brenda, Kaiser, Rock and Karren just to name a few...

I don't remember the very first person that I heard from, but I do remember encouraging words from Karren, Goofy, Astrofan, Kelly, Jim and KYLisa..this list could go on and on!  This was the first time I had used the internet this way, so it was nice to have such welcoming people.  Thanks to all!
