See it for what it is…

I had to battle to quit. It was touch and go the first two to three months, although it did get somewhat easier at the conclusion of heck week.  The smoking pattern was built into nearly all my activities.  Dig deep, know that the cravings will pass; believe it, believe in you.

In the beginning, we find ourselves at ground zero with our destination over there.  Where did you say? Ok then, way, way over there.  It seems so distance though, difficult to grasp that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

And how does one get there?  Time - buying time, by the minute, by the hour, and by the day.  You may be fogged over when you start, however the cloud that surround you begins to lifts. You become aware realizing that the opportunity to quit has presented itself.  Funny, you can taste the victory at times; it is over there.

Not too far along you can see what lies ahead.  I’ve just got to get there.  How you say?  Well surely now it is day by day, every other day or every third day progression.  That is the journey’s progression and how you chart how well you are doing.  Note your progress, rejoice and reward yourself.

Set yourself apart from the thinking that one won’t hurt. Remove yourself from the situation, get yourself out of harms way and the thinking you that that stick will soothe you.

Nicodemon speaks at you, coaxes you? Don’t let him do that take charge and kick him in the ash or smack him.

Realize that there are only perceived positives with smoking.  Nothing beneficial or lasting is possibly from the rush it may bring.  See it for what it is a cancer stick. Yes that’s correct a cancer stick.
