I would say this is proof positive of the benefits of the quit. Before, when you had a chest infection, the smoking was like throwing gasoline on a fire, it made it bigger and better. This time around, your body could deal with just the infection, without all the extra work of dealing with the smoking, so it got the job done faster and better.
 
That's my opinion - and I'm sticking to it!!!!
 
Patrick - sorry to hear you were so sick in January - I sure hope you've recovered fully and there's no lasting side effects.

Hi, Karren. I like what HP said about the cilia re=growing and helping to scrub out the remaining crap left over from smoking. I guess it wasn't so bad that you had to go for anti-biotics?   I am still waiting for that next chest infection since the one-that-nearly-killed-me in January so I can cough nicely and help to rid myself of remarkable detritus!
