I found a group of people, from all walks of life, from countries all over the world, coming together in support of a common goal, to show me that it is the most powerful quit aide available. What better way to do learn to do anything, than with a group who is already doing it, one step at a time. And all that is asked of you, is that you share what you have learned. Think about it, this is how the world should really be....everywhere. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 171 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,275 Amount Saved: $1,804.05 Life Gained: Days: 20 Hrs: 21 Mins: 49 Seconds: 52

Okay, here goes....The SCC introduced me to people (and animals) who are going through the exact same journey that I am. If I had not been here I would not have know what to expect with my quit. Who would have thought we would have craves every 30 days??? All of you have made my quit stonger. I cannot speak of my quit with many, but I have the whole world here ready to chat about it anytime of the day or night! Thank you for this thread Unhooked. I've given this much thought and have commented several times that the SSC is helping me. It's really more than that but that's what the SSC exists to do. They're true to their charter and consistent in their direction. They're a navigation beacon for people of like mind, like goals and similar challenges to come together and share their experiences. We as adults learn best by sharing experiences. It's a very simple premise and I'm sure that's why it is so successful. The SSC is an oasis in a desert of broken promises, hypocracies and irresponsibility. We know better and just need a little help to do better. The SSC gave me the courage to try and quit. I was so afraid of failing I didn't want to try. I came here thinking I was really to old and that only smart young people quit smoking. But here I am and I am quit with the help of the SSC but most of all with all the support of all the quit buddies out there. You have no ideas how many times just reading a post can save a quit. That's my story and I hope someday I can give back what I have been given. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 155 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,100 Amount Saved: $1,007.50 Life Gained: Days: 21 Hrs: 21 Mins: 17 Seconds: 56

I found the SSC 28 days into my quit. I knew I needed something, I just didn't know what. When I originally signed up, I had no idea that I had found a little slice of heaven. The SSC has taken me deeper into a cold turkey quit than ever before. They have given me support when things weren't looking so good for me. They have armed me with knowledge, so when the craves come, or the junkie whispers in my ear, I know why, and I know it will pass. The SSC is my Ace in the hole! What has SSC given to me? Faith probably - what I mean by that is that when a real heavy crave comes along, my head tells me 'this will never end', or 'you're gonna feel like this for the rest of your life so you might as well start smoking again'..... while SSC tells me 'Stay with it - this feeling is only temporary, it will pass and one day you won't even think about smoking' or 'You are giving yourself the best gift you could ever give, you have done amazing ly well and are on the path to freedom' not to mention the 'one to one' encouragements at particularly difficult times, and the laughs - can't forget the tree party, and the rest So yeah, support, encouragement, laughs but most important, FAITH in my quit... Thanks everyone for that :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 63 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 945 Amount Saved: 157.50 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 21 Mins: 33 Seconds: 58

Look at Kev & Pen, illustrating that mix of oldies & newbies! Perfect. You're so right, Kev, about learning something and also getting to show someone else the way, every day. Pen, you showed me that we can make this fun,so I absolutely believe that you started out that way, back in '04. You, like Lady do repay, and we so appreciate it. I'd like to hear about your "Truly Magical Day".
