WHAT IS YOUR GOAL?

I don't think I will ever say "I've made it", I quit once for 3 years and for the life of me I can't remember why I started again. I think I will equate my quit to that of an alcoholic- at no time will I get comfortable enough to think "I can have one smoke..." cause we all know what that leads to! Great discussion topic. Lainey, Personally, I think it's dangerous to put a time limit to it... because what if after 1 year, you still have occasional cravings? I did and still do. Does that mean I think about smoking all the time? Of course not! But they are still there sometimes. So am I "out of the woods?" I don't think I will ever be "out of the woods" because to me, that would mean that it would be safe to smoke again. You know, once I kick this addiction, I can smoke "once in a while" but as we all know, that's just not the case. Personally, I like Mitri's answer the best "when I totally forget that once I was a smoker!" That's when I will have made it... but I know that I will ALWAYS remember that I once smoked. So personally, my goal is the day I die. That's when I'll be "out of the woods" and will have "made it." And since I've quit smoking, that day will hopefully come a lot later than if I'd kept smoking! Crave the Quit!
