If I only had one sentence to tell them..... Smoking is an addiction and stopping smoking is a process that requires you to be awake and alert and aware of your body and mind at all times. One puff away from losing my willpower and returning to 1.5 packs a day! I never understood social smokers. Marie

What One thing would I tell someone about quitting? Never, ever get the big head that you've successfully quit to the point that you sound like a "reformed smoker" because people new to their quit will definitely be turned off by your advice. Life's stuggles will still be there whether you smoke or not.. and a smoke will not make your struggles disappear but smoking will surely kill you - that's a certainty! The only thing I would say was: Don't dwell on the past. Quitting smoking is a positive thing and don't blame every bad day on not smoking. Cheer up and be happy that you are not a smoker anymore. BS: If you could tell someone just one thing about smoking and/or quitting, in just one sentence, what would it be? - Quitting is doable! :-) Cheers, nmc My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 216 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,170 Amount Saved: $1080 Life Gained: Days: 41 Hrs: 5 Mins: 23 Seconds: 18

My latest mantra : "This is Bulls***!" That is my latest attack on those smoking thoughts. It's all a lie, a psychological trick by that nico-demon to try and keep me hooked and coming back, even when the nicotine itself is physically gone from my system. And with that knowledge, I now know that I CAN overcome this addiction! Banning yourself from smoking is resisting evil...Choosing not to smoke is creating a higher good...I would choose to create a higher good...If you resist evil you are sure to cave at some point, but if you sincerely choose not to smoke, you will choose a greater good over and over and over again...Until the greater good becomes your way of being... nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 94 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,276 Amount Saved: $658 Life Gained: Days: 17 Hrs: 14 Mins: 56 Seconds: 41
