Phil, Cinnamon: A sweet spice which is slightly hot and is derived from the inner bark of an East Indian evergreen tree of the laurel family. The inner bark is removed and when it is laid out, it curls into long sticks. The sticks are cut and sold as is or the bark can be ground into a fine powder. Cinnamon is commonly used in many parts of the world, but it is especially popular in Middle Eastern cuisine. It is used in sweet as well as savory dishes. OK you just let us know what time to arrive Phil. My mouth's watering already. I've already made a round of mince pies...problem is I'm the only one who likes them. My father, from Lincoln, just loved his mince pies, and guess who takes after him? Lots of planning and baking to keep everyone's hands busy, busy, busy! Oh this beginning to be fun!!!! I'm like a kid at Christmas. HOWEVER, I must add, a lot of my thoughts now are geared towards the quit. When I set my quit meter it was at -27 days, now we're down to -18. Its getting close. Cheers, Jan
