Gotta reply-----------------That's how I slipped!!! Went to the cigarette store and the clerk sold me no-nicotine Quest cigarettes. Actually, they do have nicotine, 05 mg. Went and smoked five back to back, then another on the way home. The next day I had a co-worker destroy them for me, because I realized that my biggest problem is the habit of taking smoke into my lungs. The patch is helping me nicely with the nicotine (kinda like methodone for the nic addicts!) But it was the act of smoking that I missed---and that smoke in my lungs is what has caused me to have COPD, not the nicotine. Smoking is evil all the way around  NOPE is the only way to go!!! Good post Katy, i totally agree! They have found that even the smoke from your barbuque is harmfull, much less purposly putting it into your lungs. I don't think they have herbal cigarettes here, I've never seen them anyways. I do know about "cloves" and they have more nicotine than regular cigs. I chose not to do any of the nrt except patches because the gum and lozenges seem to be hard to give up. My body has to get used to not getting that "injection" of nicotine anymore in order for me to be a happy non-smoker. Sofis, Start thinking about what kind of replacements you can find for the inhaler. A straw perhaps? When you feel ready you can start cutting down on the gum by replacing it with regular gum or by only chewing half of the gum. Take it one step at a time and find the best coping mechanism that will help you fight cravings. Danielle ________________________ The SSC Support Team

A smoke, is a smoke, is a smoke, is a smoke. If you are quit, you don't smoke. If you smoke, you aren't quit. That's just my opinion. Take what you want and leave the rest :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/1/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 398 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,968 Amount Saved: $1393 Life Gained: Days: 35 Hrs: 2 Mins: 43 Seconds: 40

while these smokes may be made of things "other" than tobacco??? It isn't the nicotine in tobacco that is the killer....granted it's a poison in large enough doses, but it's the literally hundreds of other deadly ingredients that are produced by the burning that are the killers!! so...quitting cigarettes and then smoking a rolled up dish rag is still mighty harmful to you! Would you stand in a burning building sucking down smoke and thinking what a stress reliever it was???? smoking that cigarette will kill you in just the same way....you ultimately die from smoke inhalation. so, NO don't use herbal cigarettes and think you are home free Katy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/4/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 1672 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 66,892 Amount Saved: $9530.4 Life Gained: Days: 218 Hrs: 3 Mins: 2 Seconds: 8

jeani, The motion alone would awaken those triggers and craves. Keep protecting your quit and know that at 54 days, you are doing amazing! Don't put yourself in any situation that will tempt you or bring back the urge :) Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
