I quitted 5 weeks ago, but I have a horrible crutch, I smoke a couple of nicotine free cigarettes a Week and chew a couple of Nicorette gums a day. I am determined to quit forever, but I tried the cigarettes 4 weeks into the quitting and if I have not tried this smokes, I will be smoking regular tobacco cigarettes. The cigarettes are horrible, but they take my mind out of the real ones, and help me to stop thinking (obsessing) about tobacco. Am I blowing it, or you think I will make it?.

Sofis, You can kid yourself all you want, but to be perfectly honest, if you're smoking anything, you haven't quit. Quitting means N.O.P.E -- NOT ONE PUFF EVER. Using NRT (Nicotine Replacement Therapy, like nicotine gum) gets you off the smokes, so that you can eventually get off the nicotine. If you want to use a crutch, use that. But, smoking is smoking -- even if you decide to smoke your old rolled up gym socks. Its something i have really thought about for this weekend as i really missed it last weekend. Hi all i have a general question, looking for some imput...My brother quit smoking 2 years ago, doing great.. he has been encouraging me to do the same for a long time... to me he seemed to manage his quit ok... he just fessed up today that once in a while he would smoke a herbal cigarette, it varied thru his quit 1-3 a week then 1-5 at three months and so on. He said the placebo effect stopped him from taking up smoking again (herbals have no tobacco, no nicotine)he said after a while his brain registered no effect...
