Summer time fun!

Hi Ashley,

Something that I started new this year was gardening.   I don't have much of a yard, but did manage to plant a few things and it has been very positive for me.   When my kids tell me how cool it is to get fresh lettuce or onions out of our garden or just sitting out in the sun doing some weeding.  It is a great feeling having my family eating something I have grown, it is wonderful getting outside and it is also peaceful.

I am glad to have decided to try this, I don't have a real green thumb for sure, but it definitely isn't black either.  I am already planning some perennials for the fall to fill in the flower garden a bit more as it was kind of sparse this year and have purchased a little indoor greenhouse so I can get a jump on some of my vegetables for next year.

Members,

Summer is a fun time that can be packed with great activities, barbeques, picnics, get-togethers and cottages.

While enjoying the weather we encourage you to plan pleasurable activities with family members and friends, challenge yourself to a new hobby and benefit from nature at its best.

What are some fun activities you have planned or participated in this summer?

Ashley, Health Educator
