Physical Manifestations of Panic/Anxiety

13 years ago 0 653 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi ThinkingMom,

I'm glad that you trust us enough to ask this important question. With regards to heart health, the medical community tends to err on the side of caution! So, althought I understand the reasons for your hesitation, it would be a good idea to be seen by a Doctor at your ealiest convenience to rule out any serious problems. This could be done by your family Dr. or at a walk-in clinic.

When you get the 'ok' from the Doctor, please come back to our program to obtain some guidance on how to cope with your uncomfortable symptoms. We will be happy to help!

Good luck!

Hi all,
I have begun to experience more troubling physical symptoms and I am unsure if they are related to my panic/anxiety cycle or if they warrant a doctor's attention.  I know that worrying about them makes them worse, yet I am embarrased to go back to my doctor when I was checked out OK a year or so ago.

I'm specifically referring to chest pain.  I really don't have the desire or the money to spend at this time to go back to my cardiologist.
I was checked out pretty thoroughly last year, EKG, Echo, Holter Monitor and all was OK.  I am overweight and have family history of heart problems, but I am only 46 yrs old and really feel like another checkup would be futile.

Is there any way to cope with this?
