HI ALL ...I AM BACK AND THINKING ABOUT TRYING CHANTIX

I have gone over taking chantix with my Doctor and he is very supportive of me.  I am very pill phobic and looked chantix up on the internet and read the FDA may change their stance on chantix because of the number of deaths caused from this prescription.  That surely didn't help me feel safe about taking it.  I have panic attacks to begin with...don't need any help having extras....if I could make it through a month without smoking, I believe I could stay quit.  I just need a miracle.....

Has anyone taken chantix recently that could tell me how they did taking this prescription??  If so please write to me and let me know how you faired or if you have known of someone recently that has taken it..how did they do??  Any information or insight and encouragement would be greatly appreciated!!  I need all your help and support to get started on this journey!!

HI ALL ...I AM BACK AND THINKING ABOUT TRYING CHANTIX

I haven't started taking the chantix yet as I am getting over bronchitis and pneumonia.  My dr is going to recheck to make sure it is all gone and give me the go ahead to start the chantix.  I have discussed my fears of what I have read about chantix and the FDA but he doesn't seemed concerned.  I have a great relationship with my dr and I trust him...still afraid of the chantix........LOL  I haven't set a quit date as of yet...but will know better after I see the doctor and know its ok to start it.....

HI ALL ...I AM BACK AND THINKING ABOUT TRYING CHANTIX

I took my first dose of chantix this morning, after seeing my physician yesterday afternoon and finding out that I am well enough to start the treatment.  I am nervous and excited at the same time....kinda scared as well....One good thing I know is going to be for sure..I am about to become a non-smoker!!!  Just hope I can do the chantix through the whole program.........

HI ALL ...I AM BACK AND THINKING ABOUT TRYING CHANTIX

I am on my second day of chantix....had a rough evening last night...had very bad anxiety..which I already suffer from panic attacks..and it has made them alot worse.  I felt out of body....and not real....i call the pharmacy and they told me to wait and see how it goes today and contact my physician when i am able.  I am not sure that my phobia of taking and pills has caused me the anxiety or if it really is the chatix making my anxiety and panic attacks worse.  I am supposed to start a new job on Monday....and am having trouble believing i am ready to start that with my panic attacks....does anyone know anything about what i am feeling or can give me some advice??

Panic Attacks

I suffer from panic attacks and severe anxiety.  I take medication to help me but the medication doesn't always prevent them from happening.  I do agree about avoiding situations that you have experienced severe anxiety and panic attacks at all costs....but from experience, I do eventually give the very things that caused the attack another chance and find out its ok.  The key is; I have to do it in my own time and in my own way to make it successful.  Panic and severe anxiety can be very debilitating and very devastating.  It consumes your life and controls what you can and cannot do..even when having fun, the one thing that has bettered my quality of life is to accept...float with the feeling as long as I am able.......only leave as absolutely necessary.  I give everything a chance..and take baby steps.........hope that helps others

HI ALL ...I AM BACK AND THINKING ABOUT TRYING CHANTIX

Well....to update you all, my friends, I have had a rough go of it this week......Flat tire my first day of work.....got sent home early 2 days to save on labor....and today I had to call out to take the blue pill from chantix cause I was aftaid of how it would affect me.  Both my ears are stopped up...dont know why...and I am feeling a little dizzy...other than that everything is going well.  I just hope my new  job understands how important this quit is to me and wont fire me for calling out.  I am very pill phobic....so for me to call out to continue this journey was necessary.  I am on my 8th day of chantix and still smoking.....but not enjoying it as much as I did.  I am also following the chantix help web site as well.  I have found this site to be the most helpful...over the chantix one.  I appreciate you all more than you know!!

HI ALL ...I AM BACK AND THINKING ABOUT TRYING CHANTIX

Well........I am on day 11 of the chantix......still smoking....feel nauseated and tired all the time.  I am not smoking as much as I  was...seems to be slowing down to a more manageable need for them.  Hope this medication starts working more soon......

HI ALL ...I AM BACK AND THINKING ABOUT TRYING CHANTIX

Day 15 of chantix....still smoking maybe 5 cigarettes a day....major improvement to my 2 packs a day or more after my daddy passed almost 3 months ago.  Never smoked that much before ....but its time for the quit forever....  I don't  feel the need for a cigarette as much....and can work without the need to sneak out to smoke....LOL  nice change.  I am hoping to be totally quit next week.  Thank you all for your encouraging emails and your friendship through this journey!!

HI ALL ...I AM BACK AND THINKING ABOUT TRYING CHANTIX

I am doing better....unfortunately smoked 3 today but thats way better then I have done since I have began this journey with chantix.  I have alot of things that I battle with...Trying to get back into working with panic attacks..and driving with panic attacks.  I started the job the 3 day of chantix...and had to get help to drive to and from work....someone following me to help build my confidence back up to do it alone..which is working cause I am able to drive home alone from work.......and I am back to work...2 weeks now....!!  Lost my daddy 2 and a half months ago........the hardest thing to deal with ever......so, I think over all, I am doing pretty well considering all that I am battling besides quitting smoking!!  I am working really hard to continue quitting smoking.........and I know with the help of chantix and my friends here, I have the tools I need to complete my journey and be smoke free!!  Any suggestions are welcome.........
