Your Guide to Quitting - Slipping

13 years ago 0 11226 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0

In addition to being addicted to the nicotine found in cigarettes, there are many other reasons that people smoke. In this exercise we’ll uncover your reasons for smoking and build a plan for coping with these events, urges and situations.
Listed below are a number of typical situations or events that are often difficult for people who’ve just quit.
How tempted would you be to slip if you:

* anxious, nervous or tense
* are playing or watching sports
* want to sit back & enjoy yourself
* have finished a meal or snack
* want to feel more attractive
* want to relax
* feel that tobacco is part of your self-image
* are drinking an alcoholic beverage
* see others smoking
* are offered a cigarette
* want to control your appetite
* are driving
* have just been intimate with your partner

Which triggers do you have? Which do you think will be the toughest?
