Thank you all so much...
It is really weird now after so many days compared to when I first tried to quit...I hardly ever think of a cig now but do remember in those first couple of tries that is all I could think of..I guess it took really really wanting to quit and finally asking my doctor for the help i needed...
Hmm rewarding myself..well so far i have not..I just took the meds for the two weeks and at the end of two weeks put the cigs down and just went on with my life and really have not thought about rewards...I did set up a stop smoking ticker thing on my computer and for the first month marked it on my calender but after that just stopped counting and ever once in a while would open the ticker to see how far the bars moved toward my body improving...
I have been a little nicer to myself and more patient...and if I wanted something as far as food or drink I allowed myself to have it so I guess in a way i have been rewarding myself just have not realized it..
I try not to focus on how long it has been or how long I have been quit cause as long as I don't think about it to much then I am ok...The other day my husband did leave his cigs on the coffee table and he went to work and I was cleaning and had to move them..I picked them up and thought about what it would be like but then reminded myself that i did not want to have to start all over and that is what would happen..So I set them out of sight and went on with my day...Some days along the way the cravings would hit me pretty hard out of the blue and I just gave it voice for a minute and then said no and found something to satisfy me until it went away...i think without realizing it though I was doing everything I was suppose to do cause I have been working really hard on losing weight too..so I had already switched to just water most the time and excersing and had lots to think about other then smoking..
again thank you all it really does feel great to be able to say I quit smoking and to have so many days smoke free...
I will try my best to stop by alot more and maybe i too can help someone like you all helped me...Now since you reminded me I think i am going to go figure out what i might like for that 100th day..:)
