Hello Gin: Congrats. I am just one day ahead of you on the non-smoker's list! The best advice I can give you. Try to pick your battles. You will find that you are more agitated due to the lack of nicotine. Usually most of us would smoke like chimneys in these moments, but just realized that it is from the withdrawal. The other things that I have worked for me: lots of cold water, deep breathing exercises, and walking/running. Good luck. If you can, consume yourself with this website! It has so much to offer and it really helps! Hi Gin, Withdrawal isn't painful. It's just annoying, and we'll all gotten through it and you can too! Spend lots of time reading everything you can here, do the program, have lots of cold water and candy, gum, straws etc ready to go to keep yourself busy. Its a mind over matter thing. You can do this! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 226 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,650 Amount Saved: $2,384.30 Life Gained: Days: 27 Hrs: 14 Mins: 45 Seconds: 10

Hi everybody, This is my first day to quit smoking. I don't know what to expect. I just hope the withdrawals won't be too painful. I've cut down my intake of cigarettes quite a bit...1 to 2 cigarettes a day. So now it's all the way.
