Weird Change in Taste

16 years ago 0 331 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I use to have severe acid reflux before I quit smoking. (combo of factors, but smoking played a HUGE part in that) I have not had a single issue or problem with it since quitting, but i tell ya that if I was having it now, I would be more than happy to know that I wasn't making it worse by smoking! My advice is: buy some whole flaxseeds from your local supermarket, grind them up as fine as possible and put it on whatever food you are eating. You can't taste it at all and the oil in it is healthy for your diet. I found that this really does work and was a home remedy from my Mom. also you could take the finely ground flaxseed (1 tbsp) and put it in a glass of water. Chug it down and you'll notice a difference in approx. 4 hrs. (oh and it strangely tastes like a banana when you are drinking it or it did for me anyway. Hope that helps, Let me know if it works! keep the quit, My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/12/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 18 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 270 Amount Saved: $225.00 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 6 Mins: 23 Seconds: 35

Good morning all! Yes, I myself have been helping the nice people that make Rolaids up thier profits the past little while! I've been buying them regularly! LOL! I'm sure it will pass. My feet/ankles are still swelling most evenings as well. The water pills Doc put me on aren't helping much. Sounds like it's time for another visit. Glad I don't smoke anymore. I might actually have the money to pay for the Doctor/s visit! {Self-pay...not insured.} Thanks for the input guys and gals. Danno, I had the nasty heartburn for a few weeks. Didn't have funny tastes though. But the funny thing was it vanished as magically as it appeared. Go figure! I used over the counter stuff like a Zantac product, as strong as I could get, and it helped a lot. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 270 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,750 Amount Saved: $2,848.50 Life Gained: Days: 32 Hrs: 23 Mins: 28 Seconds: 52

Hey, Danno, nice to see you. I remember quite a few people saying they had terrible heartburn, I don't recall anything about that kind of taste, though. I'm sure someone will be along, I just wanted to say hi. Hi! Hey all! How is everyone doing? Yep..I'm still around. Haven't been on here in alittle while. Most of you know the whole story thats been my life the past few weeks. Getting things lined out now though and starting to calm down from all the drama. I'm writing in this time for another reason. I know a change in taste is normal. Food tasting better, ect. For alittle while there it was for me as well. But for the past week or two, nearly everything I eat gives me TERRIBLE heartburn and tastes like Fat. Seems like all I taste is grease/fat. {BLAH!} Doesn't matter what it is. Anyone else been through this? Let me know ok? Would greatly appreciate it! Everyone doing good tonight? Hope so!
