Hi Sticking to It,

Many congratulations in advance for reaching 1700 smoke-free days. Thank you for sharing this inspirational post. It is great to hear your words of wisdom and what has helped you with your quit.

Members, what tips do you have for new quitters? How did the program help you stick to your quit?

Well said!  Congratulations on your upcoming 1700 smoke free days!  That seems like forever, and in your case, it has been forever since you've smoked.  Thanks for reminding all of us that we can become long time nonsmokers!  I want to be just like you when I grow up, so I'm sticking to it too!

You don't need to buy a car with your savings, but please find a wonderful reward to celebrate this milestone!  Here's to the next 1700 smoke free days, and beyond!

I’m three days shy of 1700 days and I feel fine!  I doubt I will log in here before Friday so here it is.  What ever means you use to get yourself unhooked, then do so.  A short amount of time to get use to and adjusted to not smoking, and to realize that smoking is something you can very easily live without.  I’ve said this before and want everyone to realize there is an end to the desire of firing a smoke.  One doesn’t necessarily realize the end has come until one day they wake up and say, God, I haven’t smoked in a week or two weeks or whatever.

I’m not one who has to keep my guard up because my journey is complete and I know that I’m not going to get hooked again.  I know that I can do whatever I want and if I want to get hooked again then I can.  Yes, one smoke would hook me right back up again.  I’ve been down that road and know the pitfalls.

Looks like I have saved enough money for an inexpensive car.  The important thing to me is that I am my own person just like all the old ex-smokers who came before me.  You know you can feel just the way I do by sticking to it.
