You're hired!  I could use someone around here to make me muffins and clean my house while I sleep. haha

You are a non-smoking champ.  You didn't dwell on it, you jumped up and distracted yourself with other tasks.  What the other members have said is so true.  Memories bubble up when you least expect them, very natural.  It's the way you handle it that will keep you a nonsmoker.  Good job!

Hi memie,

I am sorry to hear that your sleeping was disrupted by a craving in the middle of the night. Perhaps this happened because you are so close to celebrating your 150 days smoke-free. Regardless of the reason why this occurred, be very proud of yourself for staying strong and being productive while you could not get back to sleep. Your fellow members made a few great points, sometimes old memories come out of nowhere. Shrug it off as one of those coincidences, and move forward!

Hi memie,

That is pretty wild that you woke up with a craving in the middle of the night this far into your quit. But you know, I feel like things like this happen from time to time. For example, the other day I had a dream with some people in it that I went to school with years ago. I haven't seen or spoke to them in years so it was very strange that they appeared in my dream. I was wondering why in the world they were in my dream. It's not like I had been thinking of them or anything. So I feel like our brain has a memory, and sometimes we think of things, or dream things, or wake up thinking of certain things that have no relevance anymore.... That's just my theory.

The best part of this whole thing was that you were productive and used your restlessness to your advantage! Have a great smoke-free day at work, and keep that guard up at all times!

Sorry you had the crave...glad you made the best of it.  You now have jumpstarted your day, knocked out a few things from the to-do list and are almost free of nicotine for five months!!!!!  Great work.

Always keep looking forward, but do not forget the past!!!!

Keep the Quit,

Dave

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

14 years ago 0 242 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
God this is crazy waking up in the middle of the night with a big craving on day 149 .  It felt like I just quit a week ago. I found myself taking long deep breaths to take away the craving.  I though the nicotine was all out of my body by now.  I'm sure the craving is not  because of habit of smoking.  Anyway I couldn't get back to sleep so I got up made some muffins,   did the dishes,  did some exercise pilates,  checked my e-mail  and I steel have two hours to go before I leave for work. The cravings did pass, it's just weird that cravings just show up unexpected.......
