The saying that stuck in my head was something someone said here...

"I'm going to want a cigarette whether I'm a smoker or a nonsmoker. So I may as well be a nonsmoker "

At least if I was a nonsmoker the cravings would eventually taper down. If I remained a smoker, I would crave a cigarette every 30minutes or so and start all over again until the next one.

Not the best (kind of depressing really)  but it got me through.

I'm a great procrastinator so I tell myself
"Not now maybe later"
to a cigarette.  Later never comes so should work.  I like the others better though.  And of the course the tried and true NOPE is a good one, but it sometimes freaks me out with the "not ever" part.

How about 'I'm a Winner, not a quitter!'

Kinda lame I know but the word 'quitter' always sounds so negative, so let's make it positve :)

One of the ways I can stop myself from snacking on my diet, is that when I see the thing I want but know I shouldn't have, I repeat in my brain: "Nothing Tastes as Good as Thin Feels". It is an old Weight Watchers line, but it really works. I am usually able to pass the delectable tidbit by..... Even the giant Hershey's Kiss filled with Mini-Kisses that someone brought into my office this week and is 5 feet from my desk.

"Nothing Tastes as Good as Thin Feels".

Can we come up with an equally as good line to repeat as Mantra for Cigarette Craves? Some ideas:

"No Cigarette is worth the Smell"
"Puffing is for Panty-Waists"
"No Nicotine Needed Here"

I think those kinda suck, I am hoping we can do better as a group!

My Milage:

My Quit Date: 12/6/2008
Smoke-Free Days: 33
Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,320
Amount Saved: $594.00
Life Gained:
Days: 4 Hrs: 9 Mins: 3 Seconds: 15
