Wow Bob!! Cigarrettes are really cheap in SC; they are almost as cheap as in Mexico; In Mexico a pack of cigarrettes costs 30 pesos or 2.50 us dollars more or less. So I would buy between 5 and 6 packs a week for a total of 14 us dollars more or less.
Karren: You can take a great trip with that amount of savings!!!!!!!

Ok a pack in the UK ten months ago when I quit cost £5.75 which is on today's dollar/pound rate almost $9.00- so a carton of 10 packs would be $90.00.
I still save my smokes money religiously every week- I bank £60.00/$85.00 which is the amount I spent per week on cigarettes. Boy, thats an awful lot of money gone literally up in smoke!

Interesting observation Stickin'!

I'm sure members can come up with several more interesting and productive ways of spending the money saved from not purchasing cigarettes - vacations would be at the top of my list!

Here in SC.......by the carton........Marlboro are currently $28-29.  By the pack.......over $3.  The State Reps are contemplating a tax hike as I write this.
I'm pretty sure that SC has the dubious distinction of being the lowest cigarette tax in the mainland US.  I just laughed thinking how I loved that a month ago.
MissM......I remember when we used to make ciggy runs to TN........bring back all we could get in the car or van.  BootLegging them.  Buying them on Rte 25........along the road at the Indian stores.
What a set of priorities we had........

Bob

Golly---I'd be interested in knowing the prices around the world.  Here in Tennessee (tobacco country) a pack of Marlboro's would cost close to $4.00.  What's the price in your area?

And smoking, what's it costing you dollar, euro or other wise terms?  Why the last pack I bought from QFC was $7.70,  Add it up $7.70 x 365days = a lot of cash better spent on what?
