You are a very good quitter Blue Cloud and I do remember when you were just a pup. Look when you began and tomorrow marks yet another big V for you, as you have risen to the occasion time and time again to just keep on keeping on! You have the spirit and know the way Blue Cloud. I�m glad that you have noticed a big change in the way you feel, more energy, can breathe now, huh! It is somewhat important to be able to breathe wouldn�t you thunk? Two things you said in your note tells me that you have the definite mentality of a quitter. 1) One thing I know for sure is that I don't want to smoke. 2). I am not feeling defeated all the time and smoking made me feel that way. 1) Knowing what you don�t want and 2) don�t feel defeated Two very positive signs. I felt defeated as well when I was a smoker although I never realized this until I saw this in print. Btw, Happy 150, if I should miss your celebration tomorrow! Good post Stickin, I quit smoking on the 4th of July this year. I knew all the celebration was not going to stop me from doing something I needed to do to live. There is never a good day for quitting. Something always comes up to give you an excuse. I didn't know how long it would last either. I just went a day at a time then and I am still going a day at a time. I still notice my meter some days and some days I am not sure exactly how many days I have. I do feel a sence of Victory. One thing I know for sure is that I don't want to smoke. I feel so much better. I am not feeling defeated all the time and smoking made me feel that way. Not quite on cruise control but my foot is steady on the peddle. It wasn�t that long ago, as it seems, that I reined in the courage and strength to quit for a day. My day was Super bowl Sunday, Jan 22, 2006; an odd day for a football fan to choose to quit. My team played and lost that day. Did I know for certain that I was going to make this quit stick? I can not say that I did. It was a day by day thing and the days just kept adding up. Perhaps it�s the same for all of us, days just keep adding up and it gets easier and easier. Then you may reach a point that the added days don�t mean as much anymore or they are not of prime concern. I suppose this is what is called victory. And I understand that it would be easy to fall back into the trap, however you have to want to do that, to make it so. Do any of us want that for ourselves? I think not, why would we? I think as a body progresses with their quit, reality starts to settle in and you understand that you shouldn�t smoke and thereby know that this needs to stick. If not yet, you will soon be able to put it on cruise control.
