Yes I am getting ready for my "fur ball" and can not wait. Five months down and one more to go. Can not believe I have come this far. WOW!! For the most part it has not been a chore, but those darn days that they were :mad:, but you and the other got me though them. Yes you are right also, there are times that I do thing and don't think about smoking :) Thanks for the reminder. It is and has gotten much better. Stickin to it, You are so right. I still go through days of intense cravings from time to time but when I do I think of all the days I didn't have them and how good that felt. I keep diet frozen fudgecisles in my freezer and when a craving hits I hit the freezer. I used to do it serveral times a day and now when I do it it is mostly because I just want a treat. Now I am waiting for days to turn into weeks. The Signs of Time To one degree or another all of us have had a least a moment, minute, hour, even a day in which we were oblivious to smoking. This is a very positive and healthy sign. These moments of calm grow slowly at first and multiple quickly once you have made that mental connection that you in no way will smoke again. You can get to this point, six months is the target and it is largely a point when many people are feeling fairly comfortable not smoking. Sparky is nearing that point as she anxiously awaits the arrival of a four legged friend. It is not unusually to have an occasional urge even after several years of being smoke free. When tempted to smoke remind yourself that you very much enjoy the new you and your new found life. If you have an urged turn that urge into something that you can have, like a carrot or celery stick, thirst for water, deep breathing�I am a successful quitter, go ahead and say that �I am a successful quitter�. Try it again �I am a successful quitter�. Remind yourself of this often and be proud that you are achieving a goal that you have set for yourself. Trust me, others will take notice and will see you in a different light. Know that I can! Yes, yes I can and I will, I will triumph. Ps: I forgot to mention that days turn to weeks and it gets better, weeks into months! Yes it does, it really happens. Do your part and mother time will do the rest. Smoking is not an option and NOPE.
