doing well

Hi Doodles! It will get easier. I deliberatley didn't avoid smokers because they are unavoidable in my life, so I just got it in my head that I refuse to let it bother me, and it has been pretty much that, not a bother. If it is something that you have to deal with every day, it will get easier every day, just keep your guard on duty and recognize it for what it is! WE do get thru it all eventually and with each event we gain strength in our quit! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 181 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,525 Amount Saved: $1,909.55 Life Gained: Days: 22 Hrs: 4 Mins: 28 Seconds: 59

Shytterbug, My hat is off to you.. This is the first weekend for me to be around my husband (he is still smoking) and it has been very hard. Then last night a girlfriend that has moved away pops in with cig. & beer. I had I hard time sitting with her outside for a very long time. My husband did sit with her for awhile.. I was thankful, because of the heat that I did not need to sit out in the heat to smoke.... I am so glad that my clothes do not smell.. I am breathing better My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 8 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 160 Amount Saved: $24.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 22 Mins: 29 Seconds: 28

smokiejoe is my spouse and he just joined. He is on Chantix too. He's having a tough time, he still has cigs. I told him not to worry, that he will stop. It may take him longer, he was a two to two and a half packer. So five a day isn't bad. None would be better, but I tell him to hang in, eventually he will not want one. He is doubtful, but I said 'if I can do it so can you'. Hope your all doing good on your quits, remember a slip is just that, you get right back on your quit. Have a great smoke free holiday. Cigarettes Not Smoked

Hope everyone is hanging in and hanging on. It's tough at times, I do think about smoking, but that's all. Lost the weight I gained, very happy about that. I was busy cleaning among other things today. When I sat down after dinner to read, it hit me! I have gone longer without a cigarette than at any other time I have tried to quit before. AND, I don't want one! That's the amazing part. Chantix is working for me. My husband is having a harder time, but he smoked more than I did. I tell him, not to give up, just keep at it and he will not crave them either, he is only three weeks in. He's on Chantix too, I guess the more you smoked the longer it takes for it to work. Will be doing yard work this weekend, will see if I have trouble catching my breath, like I used too. Have a great weekend everyone, it not Fall yet, we still have some great weather coming.
