Congratulations on Day 3 - I'm not sure if I experienced any difference in my gums but I'm sure you will be hearing from other members. I know that smoking causes recession of the gums (I think it's something to do with Vitamin C....but I'm not sure) so it might make sense for us to experience some changes after we quit. Super, gum soreness is very normal. When you smoked your mouth had to protect itself from all the chemicals, now it doesn't need to anymore so you are raw for a while, this too shall pass :)Marie My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 141 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,121 Amount Saved: $564 Life Gained: Days: 18 Hrs: 15 Mins: 33 Seconds: 52

Super, Congratulations on three days! Some members have sensitive gums following their quit due to chemical changes occurring in your mouth as a result of your quit and increase circulation. If it persists or worsens, consult your doctor. If you have any questions about posting, you can contact us through our feedback section. Looks like you're doing okay so far. I think bacteria goes whacko in our mouths when we first quit?? some have sores, bleeding gums, bad taste, etc. My daughter had bleeding gums till she finally consulted her dentist and took a round of antibiotics. Whatever it is, if it persists, don't hesitate to ask a doctor about it. katy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/4/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 1761 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 70,478 Amount Saved: $10037.7 Life Gained: Days: 229 Hrs: 19 Mins: 46 Seconds: 48
