Well - Just had a lightbulb moment I guess - I was busy coordinating drives for a training event to cut back on mileage costs and give people the opportunity to travel together. As I was planning, it became evident that one person did not want to carpool. I was a little confused....but then it hit me....she smokes!
Oh boy - I remember how much I hated carpooling...it mean't that I would not have those precious moments to inhale as much nicotine as possible before and after events. I remember how stressful it was when I was asked to transport a non-smoker (Geeesh..Now I can't smoke....How am I going to get the smell out of my car?...etc)
Then I realized that I was planning a whole evening out and the thought of smoking didn't cross my mind. I'm a non-smoker! I don't have to figure out when I'm going to get my fix!
I know that there are lots of hurdles ahead of me...but it sure feels good to have an "aha" moment every once in awhile..
Windy

Way to go Windy, those light bulb moments sure are great, now if you combine it with a large coffee from Tim Horton's, Wow.
A group of non-smokers whom have followed the govn. program with me we are( 4 out of 10 still smoke-free ) meet at Tim's the first wednesday of each month and we invite newbies to join us and share their experience, it's very rewarding for both sides... Marie

when we remember these moments, when we had to isolate ourselves to smoke... we remember how bad it felt after all. How bad we smelled, the taste of our mouth... the smell of our fingers!
and finally, those who smoke can't really "follow" the ones who don't...you never miss the good moments because you had to go out for your fix.
way to go windy!!
you're doing great!

Hi Wendy,
I remember those moments, and I still get them from time to time - how amazing it feels!
My first moment for me come when me and my husband went on a road-trip together and I realize I hadn't have one thought about asking my (non-smoking) husband to stop the car somewhere so I could take a smoke-break.
Life is ful of moments like that, and enjoy my new freedom a lot!
