Depression / Grief

That is amazing Judy!

I am so glad you went. Pushing yourself to go when you are feeling down can be such a challenge. It is not easy; I am glad you were able to benefit from your hard work so quickly! Write this down in your thought records, so you can remind yourself of this pleasurable activity you enjoyed even when you weren't feeling up to it. Also, great self care choices. It's amazing how step by step each self care item and each activity contributes to our overall mood.

Please keep updating us on how you are doing. Also, if you have any questions or thoughts that pop up please share. We are here to work on this together.

Hope to hear from you again soon!

Welcome Judy!

I am very sorry to read about your mother. Being a caretaker and living with your mother can give you a special bond but also a special burden. You gave her such a gift taking care of her in her final days. Don't you forget that. I cannot imagine the grief you are experiencing now. Allow yourself to grieve in anyway that feels fit to you. It is normal and healthy to feel sad and even in disbelief. You may want to check out the More Help ; the 6th butterfly goes over grief and the information there may help you.

Your mother was a huge part of your life; not only are you grieving now but you are also learning a new lifestyle and possibly looking for new purpose. This may take time. Be patient with yourself. I am so impressed you are already doing work on this program. That is very resourceful of you. I am sure it will help you to move forward when you are ready. In the mean time we are here to support you every step of the way.

Other then working on this program, how are you taking care of yourself now?

I thought I replies to you 2 days ago, I do not see my reply. I will try again.

Other than this program, I am trying to do things for myself. I am setting time aside daily to read, to knit, go for a walk. I went to my first painting course. When I signed up I was all excited. The day of the session, I did not feel like going, I was like what`s the point, I am tired, I do not want to see new people. I pulled myself together I went to the course. At first I was not patient, the teacher was very patient,... and I left with my first ever painting completed. My friends and family saw the painting and were full of compliments. I felt good. I will be going back next week.

Hi My Name Judy. I am new to the Community. I have been doing some of the work, it is helpful, and opens up new things, just because we are doing the work.

I am going through sadness. My mom passed in May I was her caretaker, I was living with her in the residence home, and I moved after she passed. This is a difficult time and very hard to believe she is really gone.
