It is incredible. Even omega 3 affects libido, like antidepressants, at least in my case. And it wasn't placebo effect since I didn't know that omega 3 could have this side effect. Because of this I quit omega 3. Fortunalely I feel much better the last days. I was also with a cold recently which didn't help the mood.
The mood swings are more stable and depression is much lower. I reduced the dosage of omega 3 (EPA+ DHA) to 1,5g. The problem now is with anxiety, which is really distracting but anxiety is really tricky, the more I try to deal with it the worst it cames back. For example, when I try to relax with the objetive of getting calmer, normally the result is the opposite, I end more anxious. I no longer want to rationalize with anxiety, because it doesn't work, at least for me. If I can get some control over depression is already a victory.
Sorry to hear you are not feeling your usual self. Be sure to let us know if you feel the Omega 3 is helping. There is some evidence that a B complex and vitamin D help with depression as well.
The last 15 days haven't been easy. Depression started being more noticeable with more mood swings and especially in the mornings where I feel very tired with the sensation of a heavy head and not have rested. Before heading to the doctor I am trying Omega 3, and yesterday I bought a high concentration product. Right now I am having a dose of 3g of EPA+DHA. In a few days I will report how things are going.
