Driving over a bridge exposure

15 years ago 0 194 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0

Still struggling with it all. I havnt been diligent enough in my driving to get any further. I thought all the other things ie: diet, ecxercise, not smoking, less caffeine, sugar, meds and now the beta blocker would help. But I need to get out there and work through it. I had to deal with the grim reallity yesterday as I used public transit to go see a new friend. I didnt hide it and she was understanding as she has that issue on the freeway. But what a issue to live with. It's just plain annoying. My problem is I have found many work arounds to my transportation. I just go to places that are accessable by lite rail and bus. So there ya go.

Members,

Do you struggle with anxiety? Today we will be looking at sample exposure plans to help you overcome your fears.

If you fear driving over a bridge…

•    Walk back & forth over a short bridge for 1 hour
•    Walk back & forth over a long bridge for 1 hour
•    Drive somewhere where you can park and watch cars go over the bridge for 1 hour
•    At a quiet time of day, go to the short bridge and drive back & forth on it for 1 hour.
•    Repeat the step above on a longer bridge
•    Repeat the step above on an even longer bridge
•    Repeat the fourth step at busier time of day
•    Repeat the fifth step at a busier time of day
•    Repeat the sixth step at a busier time of day
•    Drive over a specific bridge

Is driving over a bridge a fear of yours?
