Folks, let me tell you something totally radical: I have started recognizing when situations that send me out of control as they begin and I think that awareness has really helped prevent several crisis episodes that would have left me feeling depressed, distraught, and out of control, plus interfered with interpersonal relations. I think the CBTs are helping me along with the meds to be more stable. This is great!

Danielle, Thanks for the supportive words! My mood improved during the week. I have more to say about thoughts, but will say it in the "thoughts" topic.

Mysteriosa, Yes, writting them out and finding those patterns is an important part. It may also help to make you feel better. The more important focus for you right now as you adjust to your new job may be to assure your taking good care of yourself, continuing to challenge negative thought patterns and scheduling pleasant activities. The program will always be there when you're ready. You may just need to keep in maintenance mode until your comfortable in your new job. Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

I think this is one of those days when I'm just posting/reading in support group & not doing session. This week I only did one thought record, though it was a big one. It didn't help that I forgot to collate my printout. I guess I'll give it another week. I thought about doing more, but it didn't seem as though I was having dysfunctional thoughts, just reasonable thoughts & unhappy feelings. Maybe it's good to write thoughts anyway & see if you can find some hidden distortions. Any advice would be appreciated.
