I know how you feel about groups. I myself have never done one for depression, but I had joined a group for another reason. You would be surprised out how welcome they make you feel. They are all there for the same reason, so there's no judging, only a "family" if you will, trying to help one another feel better. So it may be something to look into. Look at it this way. If you don't go, you're always going to be wondering what it's like. If you do go and don't like it, well then it was a waste of an hour or so...
I'm so sorry to hear about your job. I too know what it's like not to know who I am, I'm still trying to struggle with that one. And it makes it hard to "go get a life" if you don't know what type of life you want. Something that helps me though, is to get out, try new things... most of the people I hang out with our my husbands friends. I only have one good friend of "my own" and she has two kids and a job, so I don't get to see her very often. But by getting out, your experiencing new things, you'll find out what you like, what you don't. And before you know it you will be molding a "new and improved" you.
I hope that you can have a wonderful day today, and an even better weekend! Hang in there hon!
