Tips on Improving Organization

15 years ago 0 313 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi everyone

I've tried to cut out caffeine as I know I should but I always end up going back.. I think the addiction started when I was working at Starbucks.. lol..
It's another perfect example of how when I feel great all my "old habits" come back... until the next time..

I do agree though that chamomile tea is very calming...and I do keep a stash on hand!

ttfn..

This is a great suggestion, I find I'm very unorganized.  Tea really does help to relax, doesn't it? :)

I find caffeine makes me feel anxiously spaced out.

Camomile tea is a natural sedative, and it can come with honey, so it doesn't taste half bad!

HI Danielle, I agree on organisation, it helps me a lot, I have all my sewing projects in rubber
tubs and everything on my computer is in folders.  I try keep as organised as possible.
I find lists in the mornings help a lot, I go thru the lists and check off once its done, stuff around the
house like:
1) laundry
or 2) go for a walk
3) swweep the garage..
etc, once i've done it I just cross it off, so i dont run in circles trying to do things.
I dont drink caffeine anyrmoe in the morniing or late at night DB.  I have herbal tea at night sometimes
and i have decaf tea in the mornings.  I have coke cola once in a while, but not in large doses,
It makes me more anxious and i feel all over the place.

I completely agree Danielle,

I always feel much better in myself and much more relaxed when things are clean and tidy.

However I won't be doing my to-do list over a morning coffee!  I haven't touched caffiene in 4 months and have no intention of returning to it.
It makes my anxiety so much worse.

Hi...

I think clutter just makes my anxiety worse.. so for me a "clutter free life"..is a happier one.

I can't even relax unless theres a "plan" ..... and I definately can't relax in a "mess" so I would agree with the whole list... Organization is crucial to a peaceful mind.. For me anyways :)

There are some great tips here....

Members,

In the past week, we’ve been talking about stress management. A great preventative strategy for stress is to buff up on our organizational skills. Here are a few tips…

°          Stop hoarding! Before keeping that piece of paper or computer file, ask yourself if you really need it? If you need to act on the information contained in the document? And if you needed the information again, how easy would it be to get? Depending on the results, keep it, toss it or file it.

°          Fill out your To-Do list! Over your morning coffee, have a fresh printed sheet on your desk and list the projects or tasks you’ll be working on in order of importance.

°          Avoid wasting your time! When leading meetings, prepare an agenda before hand. Slot a set number of minutes to each topic on the agenda and stick to it. If your agenda gets too long. Divide it in half of sections and keep the next agenda for the next meeting.

°          Break it down! Huge projects need to be broken down into smaller pieces. Finish a set number of small pieces per day depending on the timeline and then move onto something else. Big projects have a tendency to leave other projects in the dark. Breaking it down allows for balance.

How do you organize your time at home or at work?
