Managing Coronavirus Anxiety

4 years ago 0 11213 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0

Hi everyone,

I have heard many people voicing concern about Coronavirus. Some concerns and consideration can be helpful, but if you find the anxiety overwhelming try these tips:

  • Avoid common cognitive distortions like catastrophizing and emotional reasoning. See session 4 in the Depression program for more information.
  • Limit screen time. Checking for updates too regularly will prevent you from focusing on other things.
  • If you are feeling anxious take time for you, talk to a friend, go for a walk in nature, try meditation, read a good book or practice yoga.
  • Check your anxious thoughts. Go through the 10 Questions to challenge anxious thoughts found in session 3 of the anxiety program.
  • Be sure you are getting your information from reliable sources. Note: youtube and facebook may not be reliable sources
  • Do not feel silly for taking normal precautions like wash your hands, avoid touching your face, get enough sleep and take care of yourself.

Have you been feeling anxious about Coronavirus? Please share how you have been coping.

Ashley
