Sayang, Please continue to share your thoughts with us. There are many people within this support group that share the same questions and concerns as you. We are all a group of individuals who support each other. We also have developed a Panic Program. This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above. Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead. This may be a route to try if you do not want medications or doctor advice. The program is designed by a doctor, please take a look. These tests may or may not be for you but they are "free". If you have any question or concerns with our €œTOOLS€, you can contact us at support@paniccenter.net. We are the Support Specialist for The Panic Center and are open to any questions or concerns you may have. Looking forward to hearing from you soon! Josie

TextTextHi, first timer here too. Please just address me as Sayang. I live in Hong Kong and in my late 30. Found and registered myself to this site only yesterday so, please pardon my 'clumsiness'. I had several panic attack symptoms in the past 3 three years without my knowing cause back then, I thought it's just my imagination and assumed it could be a low sugar intake as am not much of a big eater. The symptoms seemed to persist these few months until I had my worse attack last June--that was the turning point and I decided to consult a doctor and was diagnosed with Panic Attach with Agorophobia. This has been a nightmare to me as am very active person and always out and about. I don't believe in medications and felt that psychiatrist help would my last resort. So, am now attempting other methods like reading, listening to calm musics and basically self-therapy. And glad to stumble on this site for much needed support from those who understand me more ... thank you.

JEFF, You have come to the right place! Please continue to share your thoughts with us. There are many people within this support group that share the same questions and concerns as you. We are all a group of individuals who support each other. If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests. These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physician's advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor. We also have developed a Panic Program. This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above. Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead. These tests may or may not be for you but they are "free". If you have any question or concerns with our €œTOOLS€, you can contact Susanne or me at support@paniccenter.net. We are the Support Specialist for The Panic Center and are open to any questions or concerns you may have. Looking forward to hearing from you soon, JOSIE

This is my first time trying any type of support group, so I guess an introduction is appropriate. My name is Jeff and I am 33. I have had a few panic attacks in my past without knowing what they were. A few months back, I had a crippling bout of anxiety over a flight I did not want to take. Chest pains, insomnia, weight loss, depression, dizziness, etc. A Dr. gave me Alprazolam (.25 mg 3x day)which I only took for a day and then didn't have to take the flight. Symptoms were gone in a couple of days after that. Currently I have been having a month long anxiety bout that I think is mainly focused on my first house. I couldn't get into see my normal Dr. so I went to 2 Urgent Care Centers (2 weeks apart)with chest pains, dizziness, hot flashes, muscle pains, etc. 2 EKG's later both stated it wasn't my heart. The whole time I was taking one Alprazolam a day to help cope. Finally got in to my normal Dr. who just put me on Lexapro (currently day 3.) I can handle everything except the chest pains. They hurt to the touch, so I know it's not my heart, but that doesn't stop me from fixating on them. Anyone have the same issues? Anyone have experience with Lexapro? Curious if people find it effective and how long does it take to become effective. Thanks for any responses.
