Question for Chimpmaster

20 years ago 0 7 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hello. . .I am new to this panic sight and have suffered PD for 7 years but it has recently gotten much worse since I have moved to Charlotte (new city, new marriage, no friends here. . .had to leave my old job in different city) Ironically, I have spent my professional career working in Pharmaceuticals and have a lot of insight into the different meds. I took Zlft and then also was weaned off to Lexapro. I know people who love the Lexapro, but for me, I had really bad side effects such as anger (I am usually mellow) and more intense anxiety and nervousness. Moving between meds is very complex and uncomfortable for the person. Sometimes the process is easier when supplemented with Xanax or something of that nature. Anyone have any thoughts on Effexor??? I was just put on Prozac 20-mg and my doc recommened this as alternative. . this I don't have any first hand knowledge. Hope you feel better and p.s. if anyone KNOWS ANY GOOD DOC RECOMMENDATIONS IN CHARLOTTE NC, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I AM AT A LOSS HERE.

Hi Chimpmaster, I have been reading a lot of your posts. You seem very knowledgable, so I have a question and would like your opinion. I have been on 50mg of zoloft for 4 years and recently started having panic attacks, so my doc tried to increase it to 100mg which only made me worse. I went back down to the 50 and added .25 of xanax 3 times a day. I went to a very good psychiatrist in our area who feels that the zoloft has "pooped out". So, now I am on clonazepam .5 at night (which had done wonders for my insomnia and fibromyalgia) I take 1/2 of a .5 in the am which washes me out and he has me on Lexapro 10mg and is weaning me off of the zoloft by decreasing me to 25mg daily for a week and then stop. Now..it has been 3 days of weaning and I feel terrible. I'm jittery but tired. I am a little "weepy". I can't think straight. In your opinion do you feel that I should stick it out or get back on the zoloft possibly 75mg? I just don't want to back slide too much. I need to get back to work. I have been out for almost 2 months. Thanks for your help!
