Hi SherriAnn,
Sorry to hear that you are once again battling this disorder and yes, there are many of us who have suffered setbacks.....many times. I had panic attacks for several years and then actually went a couple of years without one and just when I thought I had it beat.....wham......out of the blue.....here I am again. My thoughts I guess are that I beat this once, I can beat it again. I, too, suffer from insomnia....even when I do sleep, it's very restless and I was shaking so bad last week that it looked like I was having a seizure, so I understand that too!
I actually got to a point that I was terrified to go to sleep because of what happens. Something that has worked (somewhat for me) is that I set up a small tv and VCR in my bedroom and play reruns of favorite shows.....usually something light like a comedy when I go to bed. I also have candles burning and incense to help relax me. I also do "self-talk" and tell those thoughts that they are extremely unwanted and that they bore me and they need to go away as I won't pay any attention to them....they waste my precious time. I have had 3 attacks in the last week so you can see that I, too, am only a work in progress but I wish you well with trying to get through this. Maybe talking with your doctor and asking for suggestions would be worthwhile as well. Good luck! kathy
