Congrats Wrestler - Keep us posted.
I'm taking a class too, and would be encouraged by your success, since I had a rough first class as I return to learning after 5 months

Congratulations Wrestler, very happy for you.  I'm sure you will do well, you are a caring person and when you described your work before, you sounded organized and responsible.  Well done!

Cheering for you - and drop in a let us know how it is going

Hi David/Wrestler...

Nice to hear from you..I was wondering how you were doing with the new meds and all..

Congratulations on taking the big step and going back to college..I remember you wanting to change careers and look at you your doing it..This is a major step and you should make a wonderful Physical therapy assistant..You have such a interest in healthy living and helping others..

You mentioned  being in class for 3 hours at a time and that you were nervous about it..I felt the same way when I started taking a 3 hour quilting class 2 yrs ago. What I did was excuse myself to use the rest room every hr or so and this gave me a chance to move around, wash my hands get a drink and such. Just a  little breather from it all is all I needed than I would go back into the class room and I would be ok for another hour or so..As time passed I was able to go longer and longer without a break. It is very possible that your instructor will have scheduled breaks and if do they it will even be easier..Our instructor doesn't have scheduled  breaks so I just take a break when I need one..

Well I need to go now and take one of those breaks I was talking about..Thanks for stopping by with the update and please do stop by again and let us know how it is going tomarrow..or whenever you get a chance of just feel like saying Hi..

We are hear and listening..

Hi Wrestler -
It's good to hear from you and congratulations on your return to college education (I need to have a similar goal - I started college in 1989 and the last class I took was three years ago - still not done!).

I hope that all of the work you've done to learn CBT will help you with your classes.  I would be nervous about a 3 hour class, too - but you will feel so great after you make it through your first, right?  That's something great to keep inside for a positive thought.

I am glad you checked in and hope to hear about your successes, when you have time!

It's been since 1998 that I took my last college course. One thing or another has happened to get in the way or I just allowed stuff to get in the way.

I am taking a 18th and 19th century humanities course. It's a pre-req required for the course study I am going for: Physical therapy assistant. Just starting with one class now, and possibly 2 in the summer. I did panic the last 2 days when I realized I should have taken an online course, but then I found out online and at the school today, that the online courses are the first to fill up.

I am nervous about it. Not the class, but that I have to be in a class for nearly 3 hours. I used to allow myself to have anxiety and panic attacks in class in high school and other times in college.

I have been doing really well since I started Lexapro, which is pretty much why I have not been around. Not that I don't want to post, but I am keeping myself busy. The OCD is much better and I am enjoying life a whole lot more than when I was not on an SSRI. My concentration is much better. I can now focus better and not let the little things get me down as much.

Well, I just wanted to update everyone.

Hope everyone is OK.

David
