Hi Hugs: Well, one thing at a time and take your time, like this program, work at your own speed. I get frustrated when I am not strong enough to do things. (wish I had real muscles, you know?) At those times I wish I were a man, but not really, lol, just for the heavy lifting part. Darn, that's when I feel like a weakling and have to accept that I can't do everything after all, even if in my mind I know how to do it, I just don't have the strength. grrrrrr......
The interesting thing about doing something challenging is the reward when you get it right. The other thing is that you are not expected to so it is okay if you do not get it quite right.
I knew an old fellow who said "you don't have to know how, just do it". It does tend to turn out better if you research it first.
For me travel is wonderful but I used it like trying to escape from depression and anxiety. I had always to come back to reality and face the facts which were a bad experience. Now I see that I didn't want to challenge my thoughts and use travel as an excuse to feel better.
Hi Hugs: I've done lots of renovating. May I suggest just one room at a time, or one project at a time. If you've never done it maybe you could ask for some advice, ideas first, then start with writing down in order what you have to do. Tick 'em off as you get them done. Just some ideas....
It's not a dream, but I'd attempt to renovate the home...I can barely do the small things, since I'm so indecisive, afraid of spending money, afraid of losing my focus of caregiving for my parent
Hi Anerol: If we were travelling around the world we would be so happy and absorbed in seeing and doing new things, there would be no room for anxiety! Just lots of fun.
I'm touched that you thought of me, thanks. And of course you can come along with me to those trips. There should be a tour for the whole world for all anxious and agoraphobic people and we can all travel together with good therapists to help us get through it, that would be fun.
