SH,
Davit is on vacation for a couple of weeks, and maybe someone out there will comment on their experience with meds...

i dont know why i dont like the meds, maybe its because it interferes with my social life, i need to be social thats the kind of animal i am, maybe i am moving too fast.maybe its becuase i feel the meds make my brain move slow.

i also think that the support that i once got (when i first started having panic attacks) has gone a bit, thats a bit disheartening. everytime i blink i see am image of myself screaming, thats weird. it is a stressful time in my life, but i always welcomed challenges, now i have anxiety whenever i am in a situation i once relished.

i wrote a letter addressed to my ex, poured my heart, soul, hate, anger, sadness and rage into it, then burned it addressed to the universe, do i have any closure...only time will tell. all i know is i am tired all the time. i am in pain from the stress and i feel i moved so far forward without looking back that i ended up back at the start line.

the potential for me to have a great and wonderful exists, i can feel it, i can see it but i can't quite get there at the moment.

Sunny,
That was a good point about meds being necessary for diabetes and pneumonia.

Unfortunately,  there is the stigma which hasn't allowed  people to live rich lives.

Personally, my aversion to meds didn't allow me to temporarily help my blood pressure, since I only needed a bit, with exercise and diet changes, I found out many years later.  This affected me mentally too, in a negative way

And then of course, the aversion is a "fear" or worry.

Hi sunhot,

It sounds like you have come a long way with many exciting things happening on the horizon.  It's difficult to deal with the feeling that we have taken more steps backward than forward!

A lot of great questions and advice was shared which I hope you will find very useful.

Another suggestion would be to explore the section on the PC site regarding conflict resolution.  Even though you may not be able to communicate with your ex in person, you may find it helpful to write out everything you want to say (or shout out anything you want to say while using a punching bag!) to get some closure.

Let us know what you find helpful!

Hi Sunhot:  Nice to hear from you again. It takes two to tango as the saying goes.  Some of her and some of you.  Where and how much the equation settles, only you know.  Sounds like you know what to do.  Trust your instincts, your gut.  Seems like a decision has been made already.  Why do you hate meds so much?  Do they not help you?  Do you think you are weak for taking them?  Would you take them if you were diabetic and needed insulin?  how about antibiotics for pneumonia, would you take it?  Be patient with things, little by little things will get better and maybe soon you will be able to taper off your meds.  Don't forget to keep CBT in action and practice.

SH,
If you were an eastern trained sage with no attachments then your response be the entire problem.
Remember the definition of all-or-nothing thinking though, making it  all you.

There's a reason for the song lyrics "...she's a devil in disguise...".

Only you can determine the real balance of emotions and accountability though.

"The girlfriend isn't the problem, your perception of the problem is"

Thank you Davit.

All joking aside, a punching bag works. Anger and the releasing of it stops panic for the very simple reason that anger is part of the fight half of fight or flight. Releasing the anger allows the panic, or anxiety to shut down.

The girlfriend isn't the problem, your perception of the problem is. This you can change without going near her.

Here for you,
Davit.

You are both correct, the unfinished business is with an ex-girlfriend that psychologically tortured me in an expert way but with a restraining order i have on her i can't go near her and vent my frustrations and and also my health that is not in jeopardy but every little things makes me panic. I also think that i need to get off my pills, i hate being on meds and sleeping pills... i need a punching bag!!

Hi, you are right there is unfinished business. My opinion! Just my opinion! You learned how to cope and how to survive but you never got rid of the underlying problem. There can be a number of reasons for it to raise its ugly head right now, most of them subconscious. Here are some examples, starting with the most common. These are core beliefs and some can be old and some can be new. 1: I have no right to be better. 2: I only think I'm better. 3: it didn't work.

It goes on and on. Think on it, I might be right.

Here for you,
Davit.
