One Step a time

Teebs-

Thank you!!!  We are getting there aren't we!  Just like the tortoise.
This is the first block in my Freedom quilt.  I still have many more to go before I put them all together and finish my quilt. Just like the program here it can be done one small step at a time. When you take your time and build a solid frame work starting with one small square at a time, than one block at a time, and you go to put it all together, you know you have built something strong and beautiful that will last a lifetime.  My partner told me if you break a problem down into steps and take your time, it is much easier to work on.  I really couldn't understand this concept until I started working the program here on the site.  Than after taking my time and working the program here it all started to click and I began to make real progress.
I too have seen all the progress you and many others here in the group have made and you too should be very proud of yourself. I am inspired to move forward when I read all of your posts here on the site. Thank you for posting it helps us all when you do.

Red -

This is an awesome post. Thanks for reminding me that the tortoise method works - I too started out as a hare and have gone back to take it slowly one step at a time.  Your quilt is beautiful - congratulations! You deserve to be so proud of yourself.

Josie,

I want to thank you and all of the educators for the complements. It does feel good hearing you say it. I also want to thank you all for your support, advice, and for showing me the way to a happier and healthier life.   I too am very happy about all the success I have had with the program here.  I too am very proud of all I have been able to achieve so far. I am really excited about my new found freedom. I am looking forward to life now, with  lots of enthusiasm and plan on pushing forward  one day at a time, one small step and one block at a time.

Today I put up a new avatar here on the site. It is a picture of my first quilt block. This block represents freedom to me.  When I first started this program 8 months ago I had never heard about CBT.  At first I tried to rush through the program thinking if I hurried up and did the work I would get better faster.  After a while I realized that in order to have this program work for me I had to slow down and take my time with it. Like the Tortoise and the Hare story. I am the Tortoise and I am winning the race. I learned to let myself relax and let it sink in, than working the program started to make sense and doing the work became much easier..  It took a lot of time and many steps for me to be able to get to where I am able to leave my house and take a class and make this first quilt block. So that is why I am naming this my freedom quilt.  I am getting my Freedom back because I took my time working the program.  There are many steps involved in getting your freedom back just like there are many step involved in making a quilt.  Your have to do it one step, and one block at a time in order to finish the race and come across the finish line a winner.

Everyone can win!  Everyone can do this program!  "One small step at a time".
