In my opinion, that is absolutely rediculous. This sounds like the worst therapist ever, especially if shes suppose to specialize in agrophobia. The ONLY thing she did was make you feel small and made you think something was wrong with you for not being able to come into her office. I would complain to my insurance company and have them get that $130 back. By the sounds of this, its close enough to a scam.
I am so very sorry you had such a bad experience.
When I first started considering therapy, I was always thinking of in-home sessions...but I am still able to go out of the house and do things, albeit they are hard.
I'm honestly still in awe about your story.
I hope you can find someone that actually knows what they are doing and doesn't waste your time.
Please keep us updated with this, and I hope that you start making progress soon...just baby steps are needed.
My anxiety worsened about 9 months ago, and within the last few months, I am finally starting to see progress. This is how I found my therapist. You can search all of the therapists/psychologists in your area...but also see a picture of them, and a brief description, as well as a map...etc..etc.
just can just type in your zip code and then where it says "Show me: Insurance Info | Group Therapy | more..." Click on MORE.
Then you can specify the specialty you need.
This is how I found my therapist...I e-mailed about 5 of them, and this one seemed to care the most...even met me outside to walk me in the first few times.
Hope this helps you!
