Athena, you asked, how do I motivate myself to get through day one?????
Follow these ten steps:
1. Don't count days
2. Make a plan for quitting/moderating before you do it
3. Do not implement your plan until you do the following:
3. Start working the CBT program in the Panic Center
4. Log in everyday to AHC and the Panic Center
5. Read lesson one and the education pages on both sites and begin using the diaries & mood trackers daily
6. Let go of the notion that you SHOULD naturally know and/or quickly learn how to do the program
7. Use the forums and/or blog. Make an entry every day. Complain, whine, ***** & moan, groan, ask for help, support, inspiration, ask questions, vent.... whatever. Write if only to say, "I'm here, doing the stupid homework."
8. Ask yourself:
Why should I put so much effort into this program?
What if I think this is a worthless program?
What will happen if I do all of the work and it doesn't help?
9. Decide if you want to continue with the program
10. When you start feeling better... amend your quitting/moderating plan... and begin agin
If you do one step a day, you'll be where you need to be in less than two weeks!
It took me nearly 10 months of using these sites before it started to all come together. These particular steps and the order suggested are mine (culled from the information found here) but are not the "Official" AHC steps.
