Kelly, Don't be too angry about your Dad, I've got a daughter almost your age and have been an insensitive lout more times than I can count. I don't know what makes us do it, maybe we still see our little girls as the willful teenagers they once were. Unless he's a bigger jerk than me rest assured that he loves you and really hopes you succeed in this. Holy Crap it's her Birthday tomorrow and I haven't done a thing! Oh Jeex there's another screw up to add to the list! Good morning Kelly. I hope you're feeling right as rain again today. I could tell from your words that you were worn down. Fortunately, your quit is strong. Notions to smoke are annoying don't you think? We know better than that and we still have this voice trying to tell us were wrong and smoking is what we need. I easily dismiss it but wonder how long this moron addict can keep it up. Its too easy to dismiss and ignore it; I just get a little irritated sometimes. Youre too smart to let the moron trick you. These little petty annoyances are fewer and fewer as time passes. So, may time pass as we all get stronger and the addict doesnt. Kelly, The BLAHs can strike any time during the first weeks. You just have to ride that wave, and know that it will get better. I think planning rewards can help sometimes, and a bit of 'me' time.....and chocolate! I know from you other posts that you are normally a very positive person. Keep going, no matter what. It is so worth it. Oh... Aloha, you have seasons. Whale watching season is one that I am aware of. Actually, I've been thinking that a really good reward would be to visit Kauai with my savings...in about a year. Maybe do some island hopping! Checking out in style! You're right, btw. It's just life. It's just life w/o the coping mechanism I'm used to having. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 44 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,320 Amount Saved: $257.40 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 0 Mins: 12 Seconds: 34

Thanks, guys, for the replies. lol. I'm a poet and I didn't even know it. Wait! That was a different thread. ;) I think everyone is right. I think it's the change of seasons. I think it's the blahs. I think I'm tired of working at this. I'm tired of thinking about it all the time. I'm tired of hesitating anytime I'm in a situation where I need to tell someone I don't smoke anymore. It's true I don't want to smoke. It's also true that I do. I just want to feel normal. I'm exhausted from quitting. I'm angry that my dad, who I finally told this weekend, responded to me by saying "for how long, ten minutes?" And when I told him it had been six weeks he said, "oh, your mother wants to talk to you." I am going to re-read the thread about No man's land as well as the other Penguin suggested. Thanks, Penguin! :) I was thinking that what I really want is to "check out" for a while. I think when I used to do that it was always in my bedroom with a cigarette. Just get away from everyone and everything and smoke and relax. You guys are right. I need to do something relaxing for myself, by myself. I am going to take doodles advice and go to bed now. Tomorrow will be better, I'm sure. The kiddo has a soccer game tomorrow afternoon. Those always pump me up. I'll take him to dinner after. Just him and me. He deserves some rewards himself for putting up with my cranky a$$ the past 45 days. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 44 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,320 Amount Saved: $257.40 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 0 Mins: 11 Seconds: 55

Hi Kelly! I know how you feel. You want to smoke, but you don't want to smoke, because you know it won't make you feel better. Try watching a funny movie or find something funny to read. It will be better tomorrow. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 217 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,425 Amount Saved: $2,289.35 Life Gained: Days: 26 Hrs: 14 Mins: 0 Seconds: 21

Hey, kelly. Could be blah's, change of season, could be your tired of it. Whatever the problem, the solution is chocolate! Go get you some, girl! And if a spa gets in your way while you're out & you fall into a pedicure chair, well these things happen. Be good to yourself, get a reward, pat yourself on the back. You're doing great & you're going to keep doing great! Seems to be a yucky time around this time for a lot of people. Some have jumped off the pier waiting for the cruise ship, and then there's me who previously swam back to shore shortly after take off. It's all in the process Kelly, and it will get better. I know you know that. Welcome to no mans land!!!! There is also a post called "the nag" you might want to look for, written by Shevie sometime back.
